Site News 05-20-25

I had a busy week. Worked a gig on the weekend in addition to my norm (Pics) and took delivery of 2 new servers. I’ve deployed base security settings but I still have some fine tuning to do.

I’ve also deployed a base set of apps or services on each server including a video server based on Peertube, a chat server based on Matrix, a multi user photo gallery using PixelFed, and a microblogging service called Epicyon.

Getting the settings and configs right for all these apps will take some time, but you can check em out while I’m testing and refining.

Search Tools

I added 3 new search tools to the menu, which I’ve named 0 search, i search, and x search.

0 search is powered by whoogle, and is a privacy focused way to access information on google without being tracked or monitored.

x search uses SearXNG, an aggregator that lets you search multiple engines concurrently and has some privacy features too.

i search is built on Yacy, a decentralized search network where no single entity controls rankings or results.

Access to these tools is limited during testing/development phase.

Site Update 05-10-2025

Here is a listing of what’s gone down this week:

• Ported lost.ws from wordpress to flatpress.
• Set up a staging site and revision system to roll out changes every Sunday and make it easy to roll back.
• Landed on a blacklist after sending 1 email to myself. No email until I can fix my domain reputation.
• Delayed delivery of my new server. No vids this week.
